Neemuch: Empty plots in the city becoming breeding grounds for dengue and malaria
Neemuch: The city's empty plots have become a breeding ground for diseases like dengue and malaria. The vacant plots, filled with garbage and overgrown with weeds, are an open invitation to diseases.
The situation is further complicated by the fact that most of these plots belong to influential people, making it difficult for the municipal corporation to take action.
A Hub for Diseases
The city has hundreds of vacant plots, with each ward having at least 10 to 15 such plots. These plots have become a haven for mosquitoes, which are responsible for spreading diseases like dengue and malaria. The situation is particularly dire in areas like Bungalow-Bagicha, where the plots are in a state of disarray.
Municipal Corporation's Helplessness
The municipal corporation is aware of the problem, but it is unable to take action due to the influence of the plot owners. The corporation has issued notices to the owners but to no avail. The owners are not bothered about the maintenance of the plots, and the corporation is left to deal with the consequences.
A Health Hazard
According to Dr. Vijay Bharti, a government doctor, the vacant plots are a health hazard. "The garbage and weeds in these plots are a breeding ground for mosquitoes. It is essential to maintain cleanliness in these areas to prevent the spread of diseases," he said.
Municipal Corporation's Plan
The municipal corporation plans to take strict action against the owners of the vacant plots. "We will issue notices to the owners and take action if they fail to comply," said Dharmesh Purohit, the health chairman of the municipal corporation.
Concerns
The residents of the city are concerned about the situation. "We are worried about the spread of diseases due to the vacant plots. We request the municipal corporation to take immediate action to clean up these plots," said a resident.
The municipal corporation must take immediate action to address the issue and prevent the spread of diseases in the city.
