Fake BA Degree Racket: Accused Praveen Ratlia Arrested from Jaipur

Udaipur: The Surajpole police team has arrested Praveen Ratlia, the director of Platinum Group of Education, from Jaipur for allegedly providing fake BA degrees in exchange for money. Ratlia had been absconding since 2021.

According to Thana Incharge Sunil Charan, Ratlia had hiding in Jaipur for the past few months. A team from Udaipur went to Jaipur and arrested him from Jyotinagar's Pinnacle Apartment.

Ratlia, a resident of Pratap Colony, Kalka Mata Road, had been on the run for a long time, hiding in Manipur and Delhi before finally settling in Jaipur.

This is not the first case against Ratlia. Tej Shankar Sharma, a resident of Gundali Kheda Akola, had filed a complaint against Ratlia and his employee Harshika Jain in August 2021.

According to the complaint, Ratlia had advertised in a newspaper in March 2012, promising to provide a BA degree from a university in Sikkim. Sharma had paid Rs 63,000 as fees, but was only provided with a mark sheet via email and was later told to pay more for the original degree.

When Sharma went to the university in Sikkim, he found out that it had been shut down. Further investigation revealed that the university was not even approved by the UGC.

Several other cases have been filed against Ratlia in Surajpole, Pratap Nagar, and Savina police stations, some of which are currently under trial in court.
