Sawaimadhopur: The Akhil Rajasthan Rajya Karmachari Sangh, led by Kailash Narayan Saini and Hanuman Singh Naruka, submitted a memorandum to District Collector Dr. Khushal Yadav on Tuesday, demanding a public holiday on Ganesh Chaturthi in Sawaimadhopur district.
According to Hanuman Singh Naruka, every year, the District Collector of Sawaimadhopur declares a public holiday on Ganesh Chaturthi, but this year, the collector has declared a holiday on Kartik Krishna Amavasya instead. Naruka argued that there is no local fair or special event on that day, and the Trinetra Ganesh Mela, which attracts lakhs of devotees from across the country, is an important centre of religious faith. Therefore, a public holiday should be declared on Ganesh Chaturthi to respect the religious sentiments of the citizens and employees of the district.
The delegation, which included Harishankar Gurjar, Laddu Lal Lodha, Ashok Pathak, Rahul Sharma, Rajendra Verma, and Bhuvneshwar Sharma, among others, received an assurance from the District Collector that he would consider their demand.
