Jhunjhunu: To control and prevent mosquito-borne diseases, collective efforts are essential. This was stated by Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Rajkumar Dangi during the 'Swasthya Dal, Aapke Dwar' campaign.
According to Dr Dangi, the campaign, which started on August 5, aims to create awareness among people about the measures to prevent mosquito-borne diseases. So far, the health department team has surveyed 416,285 houses and organized anti-larval activities.
Dr. Dangi emphasized that the health department, along with other departments, needs to work together to control mosquito-borne diseases. He also stressed the importance of public participation in this effort.
The CMHO highlighted that August, September, and October are the months when diseases like dengue spread rapidly. Therefore, it is crucial to take measures to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes and control the spread of diseases.
In the high-risk areas, 40 people have been deployed as DBCs (Disease Surveillance Coordinators) in Jhunjhunu, Nawalgarh, Chidawa, Pilani, and Singhana urban areas. These teams are surveying 50 houses daily.
On Wednesday, the CMHO Dr. Rajkumar Dangi sent a team to identify dirty water spots in the district headquarters. The team found a large water tank near the Rico police station, a park near the Indian School, and a dirty water spot at Gudha Mod. The district collector and municipal council have been informed about these spots.
Dr Dangi stated that last year, 128 dengue cases were reported until August, whereas this year, only 12 cases have been reported so far. He emphasized the need for continuous and collective efforts to control these diseases.
