Alwar: The recent rainfall in the region has brought with it a spike in viral fever and infections among children. The district hospital in Behror is witnessing a surge in the number of children being admitted with these ailments.
According to hospital authorities, over 200 children are being brought to the hospital every day, with symptoms of viral fever and infections.
Doctors at the hospital attribute the rise in these cases to the sudden change in weather, which has led to a significant increase in viral fever and infections among children. "Children are more prone to viral fever and infections during this time of the year, especially when they are exposed to air conditioners and coolers," said Dr Pankaj Yadav, a paediatrician at the hospital.
Out of every 10 children brought to the hospital, two are found to be infected with malaria, with low platelet count. The hospital's pediatric department is working overtime to treat the influx of patients, with doctors advising parents to take precautions to prevent the spread of infections.
Dr Yadav advised parents to avoid exposing their children to cold air from air conditioners and coolers and to administer fever medication at home if their child shows symptoms. "If the fever persists, parents should seek medical attention immediately," he added.
The district hospital is doing its best to cope with the situation, with doctors and medical staff working round the clock to treat the affected children. The hospital authorities have appealed to parents to take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of infections and to seek medical attention if their child shows any symptoms of viral fever or infections.
