Miracle Baby: 635-Gram Newborn Defies Odds, Goes Home Healthy After 62 Days
Dungarpur (Rajasthan): In a remarkable display of medical expertise, a team of doctors at Shri Haridev Joshi Hospital in Dungarpur has successfully treated a premature baby born weighing just 635 grams, and has sent her home healthy after 62 days of intensive care.
The baby girl was born prematurely, and her physical development was incomplete. However, the hospital's team of doctors and medical staff worked tirelessly to ensure her survival, using state-of-the-art facilities and equipment to provide her with the necessary care.
According to Dr. Mahendra Damor, Superintendent of the hospital, the baby was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and was provided with artificial respiration and oxygen therapy to help her lungs develop. She was also given antibiotics and surfactant therapy to aid her recovery.
The hospital's team of doctors, led by Dr Nilesh Gothi, Dr Ramprakash Bairwa, Dr Anju Meena, Dr Pavan Meena, Dr Durgawati Katara, and Dr Roshani, worked together to provide the baby with round-the-clock care, overcoming several challenges and complications along the way.
Dr Ramprakash Bairwa, in charge of the Neonatal Unit, said that the baby's premature birth posed a significant challenge, but the hospital's team was determined to save her life. He added that the baby's treatment was provided free of cost and that the hospital's administration, led by Dr Bala Murugavelu, Principal of the Medical College, and Dr Mahendra Damor, Superintendent of the hospital, provided valuable guidance and support throughout the process.
After 62 days of intensive care, the baby was finally healthy enough to be discharged from the hospital, weighing a healthy 1.45 kg. Her family was overjoyed to take her home, and the hospital's medical staff was relieved and happy to see the baby thrive.
