Ratlam: Dengue Cases Reach 113

Ratlam: The number of dengue patients in the city and district has been increasing rapidly. With two new cases reported on Tuesday, the total number of dengue patients has reached 113. The Municipal Corporation and the Malaria Department have decided to take joint action to control the situation. A survey to detect dengue larvae is already underway in the city. From Wednesday, a fine of Rs 500 to Rs 5,000 will be imposed on anyone found to have larvae on their premises.

Dengue cases are on the rise in the district, with more than half of them reported from the city itself. To curb the spread of the disease, a joint meeting of the Municipal Corporation, the Malaria Department, and the District Epidemic Control Officer was held on Tuesday at the IEC Center in Civic Center. The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Himanshu Bhatt, District Malaria Officer Dr. Pramod Prajapati, and District Epidemic Control Officer Dr. Gaurav Borival.

Unified Campaign to be Launched

The Municipal Corporation and the Malaria Department have been conducting surveys and fogging operations separately but with limited resources. The meeting decided to launch a joint campaign to tackle the issue. The campaign began on Tuesday night, with fogging operations carried out in the Officers' Colony and surrounding areas. The teams will also spray mosquito repellent in the affected areas.

Action will be taken against those who have failed to clean up their surroundings despite being warned earlier. Fines will be imposed on them, and their premises will be sealed.

Affected Areas

The areas most affected by dengue in the city include PNT Colony, Deendayal Nagar, Jawahar Nagar, Lakshmanpura, Vinoba Nagar, Javra Fatak, City Sarai, Subhash Nagar, Haat Ki Chowk, Station Road, TIT Road, Ghass Bazaar, Thawariya Bazaar, Shairanipuram, Mochipura, Bargunda, Naipura, and Ratneshwar Road. Continuous surveys and fogging operations will be carried out in these areas. The Malaria Department has prepared a plan for the same.
