Punjab Shocker: 19-year-old specially abled girl raped in Ludhiana
A 19-year-old specially abled girl was raped by an unidentified man in Ludhiana’s Jamalpur area on May 6.
According to the police, accused man barged into the house and lured the girl with money. He then took the victim to a vacant plot and committed the heinous crime.
After returning home, the girl narrated the entire incident to her mother, prompting them to file a complaint at the Jamalpur police station.
According to the 19-year-old's mother, her daughter is mentally challenged and used to remain at home. An unidentified man barged into the house, lured the girl with money, and took her to a nearby vacant plot where he raped her.
As per the complaint, the mother noticed blood on the private parts of her daughter in the evening and questioned her. The victim then narrated the entire incident after which she reached the police station and filed a complaint.
ASI Balvir Singh stated that the accused was known to the victim’s family.
A case under section 376 (Punishment for Rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been lodged against the unidentified man and a hunt is on to nab him.
Police are also questioning people of the locality and are also scanning the CCTVs installed in the area.
The case is under investigation and further details are awaited.
In another incident, a 40-year-old man was arrested yesterday in connection with the rape of a seven-year-old girl in Jharkhand's Palamu district, police said on May 8.
The incident occurred on the night of May 6 while the girl was alone at home and her parents were out for work.
According to the police, the accused man visited the girl's home to deliver milk while she was alone. He lured her by showing something on his mobile phone and then took her to a nearby under-construction house where he allegedly committed the heinous crime.
