These 5 friends convert their luxury cars into emergency hospital for COVID positive critical patients

The second wave of coronavirus has brought a huge load on the health system in India. The government is trying its best to cope up with the challenges due to COVID-19. Amid the chaos, many people have also come to extend their support to the needy during this tough time. Recently, five friends from Rajasthan’s Kota decided to help the critical COVID patients.

They have proved that humanity still exists in the world. To help the patients, these five friends have turned their three luxury cars into an ‘emergency hospital’ and have been providing oxygen to the critical patients in their vehicles.

This incredible idea was initiated by 44-year-old Chandesh Guhjia, who runs a car service centre in Kota, india.com reported. He decided to convert his car after seeing many people running around in search of oxygen and medicines.

Therefore, he took the help of his other four friends—Ashish Singh, Ravi Kumar, Aashu Kumar, and Bharat Samnani. Guhjia’s four friends also helped him and converted their luxury cars into an emergency hospital for COVID-positive patients.

Meanwhile, they are using three cars and if the demand is increased they will get more such cars to help the patients.

One of the cars is owned by Chandesh while another car belongs to his brother and the third car is that of his uncle.

Two cars are serving as an ambulance and a gas kit has been installed in all cars. Chandesh told IANS that the AC of the car needs to be put on till the time oxygen is being supplied to the patient. He further told that the daily expense for this service costs around Rs 5000-Rs 7000 which also includes the cost of the oxygen cylinder for which his all friends contributed.

Chandesh and his friends stand in queues for hours to refill the cylinder as one cylinder in the car can provide oxygen to three patients. They received calls from many needy but it is difficult for them to cater to everyone.

“Since the last 10-12 days, we have been supplying oxygen cylinders to patients’ families free of cost. However, it was taking more time and fewer patients were reached so we turned the cars into oxygen supplying vehicles,” they added.

Their aim behind this service is to ensure that no one is dying due to lack of oxygen. They are visiting each household to know that no one is dying due to lack of oxygen.

Those wanting the service of the ambulance, Chandesh along with his friends put the patient in the car and supplied oxygen. They also help patients in reaching the hospitals. Their ambulance remains parked at the hospital till the patient gets admitted or is attended by doctors.
