The victim’s father, identified as Devender, told Indian Express: “At 11 am, as I was heading to my farm, he told me that he is going to college to fill some forms and would be back soon. When he did not return till 2.30 pm, my wife called him on his phone. One of the accused put the phone against his mouth and he spoke in a muffled voice and informed her that he was being beaten up.”
Later, Devender, along with his father, went to the crime spot where his son was being beaten by the accused. Devender said he saw the accused beating his son. He asked them to stop the assault but they didn’t listen to him. They claimed that they were assaulting him to teach him a lesson for abusing them.
Subsequently, the victim was rushed to a hospital from where he was referred to another hospital. He passed away on the way to the other hospital. Devender said that last week, his now-deceased son had told him that he and Ravi had a fight over some issue. He added that he had not thought that the accused would beat his son to death.
According to Mahendergarh SP Chander Mohan, the police investigation suggested personal enmity led to the crime. Vicky, who is one of the accused, has been arrested and efforts are on to trace and nab others.
