Rishabh Pant named in the Indian squad following a good IPL season

Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant on Tuesday was picked for the ‘India-A’ squad that will play against ‘West Indies-A’ starting from July 11, 2019. Pant has been named in the squad for five one-day games with Manish Pandey named as their skipper.

The national selector announced the teams that will play against Sri Lanka-A and West Indies-A. Two Test matches and five one-day matches will be played against Sri Lanka-A starting from May 25. Ishan Kishan has been named as captain and wicket-keeper of the team against Sri Lanka-A in Tests, while PK Panchal as captain for one-day games.

Shreyas Iyer has been named as captain against West Indies-A in three Tests with Wriddhiman Saha as their wicket-keeper.

Some young performers from the Indian Premier League also got a chance to showcase their talent. Shreyas Gopal, Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, Navdeep Saini, Khaleel Ahmed, Rahul Chahar, Mayank Markande, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Shivam Dube among others got a chance to play for India.
