First time in history of Indian cricket the playing XI has each player from different Ranji team
The Indian cricket team is one of the most lethal teams in the ongoing World Cup 2019. India has won all their matches so far in the tournament. India defeated Afghanistan by 11 runs in a nail-biting thriller yesterday. One of the few things that this Indian team has is the playing XI that played against Afghanistan was a mix of different states and provinces.
The Indian XI against Afghanistan had each player from different Ranji Trophy teams and this is the first time in the history of Indian cricket that every player in the team is from different Ranji squad. Rohit Sharma- Mumbai, KL Rahul- Karnataka, Virat Kohli- Delhi, Vijay Shankar- Tamil Nadu, Kedar Jadhav- Maharashtra, MS Dhoni- Jharkhand, Hardik Pandya- Baroda, Mohammed Shami- Bengal, Jasprit Bumrah- Gujarat, Kuldeep Yadav- Uttar Pradesh, Yuzvendra Chahal- Haryana.
India’s Mohammed Shami took the first hat-trick of World Cup 2019 and become the second Indian to take a hat-trick in a World Cup match after Chetan Sharma in 1987.
India is one of the two teams in this World Cup with a 100 percent win ratio. India will play against West Indies on June 27 at Old Trafford, Manchester where they defeated their arch-rival Pakistan by 89 runs (DLS) method.
