Arjun Tendulkar's all-round show helps his side win the first match of T20 Mumbai League
Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar helped his team win their first match in the ongoing T20 Mumbai League. Arjun playing for Aakash Tigers MWS gave an all-round performance with both bat and ball.
Bowling first against Triumphs Knights MNE, Arjun picked up a wicket of opener Karan Shah. The junior Tendulkar gave away just 21 runs from the three overs he bowled with a healthy economy of 7.00. Anjdeep Lad picked up two wickets from two overs.
Triumphs Knights skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who plays for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League scored a fantastic 90 runs off 56 balls and remained not out. Yadav was the only batsman to contribute runs for his team. Knights finished their innings at 147-6 from 20 overs.
In the second innings, openers Kaustubh Pawar and Aakarshit Gomel gave their team a good start as they scored 34 and 41 runs respectively. After Aakarshit was dismissed in the 9th over, Arjun came in to bat and started poorly by playing some bad shots. He was dropped on 5 by Vaibhav off Parikshit Valasangkar. His partner Siddharth Akre calmed him down before he took off again and scored 23 off 19 balls. He mistimed the ball again and was caught by Vinayak Bhoir on long-off.
Arjun’s team Aakash Tigers MWS won the match 5 wickets from three balls to spare. His team was led by Dhawal Kulkarni, who plays for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. Kulkarni also took 1 wicket from four overs giving away 23 runs.
