They asked people to alert the emergency services, unfortunately, there was no network to call the rescuers.
Therefore, the Sikh men came up with a solution to rescue the two men. They decided to use their turbans as a makeshift rope to save the lives of the men.
Kinda and his friends removed their turbans and other clothing so as to make a 10-meter rope. They threw the rope and asked the men to hold it tightly.
The rescue video of the two hikers was shared on Sikh Community of BC on Twitter along with a caption, “A video of the incident on Monday, in which five Sikh hikers tied their dastaars (turbans) together to save a man who had slipped and fallen at the Lower Falls at Golden Ears Park. Reportedly, when Robert Laing, the search and rescue manager reached the location, the Sikh men had already rescued the two men.
"We spoke briefly with them but only to make sure they were fine and did not require medical aid. They did say they did not see the warning signs regarding the hazards of approaching the falls," Laing said.
Meanwhile, the video of the incident has gone viral on social media and has garnered over 4k views on Twitter.
