Most ancient cultures such as yoga and ayurveda have always emphasized on the connection between body, mind and spirit and recognized that all are interlinked.
Scientists too recognize that health is influenced not only by the physical body but the spiritual, mental, and emotional bodies, too, said Dr Manoj Kutteri, wellness director at Atmantan.
Physical Body
The physical body indicates how things are going in all different areas, and it also provides the musculoskeletal structure and vital tissues and organs that help you live your life. Physical health is primarily achieved by exercise and healthy eating.
However, it is also proven that your mental and emotional stress can also take a toll on your physical health, said Dr Kutteri.

The Spiritual Body
The spiritual body is your connection to the cosmic energy. It is an awareness and understanding of one's self and the ability to influence the feelings and emotions below the conscious state.
Dr Kutteri added, it could be more to do with the atoms in the body or the quantum energy that science refers to.
To fully access the spiritual aspect of your being, maintain a constant practice that keeps this connection open. If a blockage occurs, energy and information are unable to flow freely from the spiritual body down through the mental, emotional, and physical bodies.
Practices for the Spiritual Body:
- Various Meditation practices helps;
- Learn to work with energy through practices such as Pranic healing, Reiki, Ajna Light Therapy, Shirodhara, and acupuncture which helps to keep the energy channels open.
# Acupuncture- Chinese medical traditions believe that health and wellbeing comes from the individual's harmony within their environment, and this harmony flows as an energy system throughout the body, known as Chi. When the flow of Chi is disrupted, the resulting blockage in the meridians causes illnesses in the body, and disharmony with the elements.
The Chi follows energy lines called meridians, and these meridians flow throughout our body. When these are restricted, imbalances begin to occur on a cellular level, and when left untreated, result in disease.
Acupuncture has been developed to stimulate the flow of Chi so that the body may restore its lost vitality. After an initial consultation and assessment, fine sterile needles are inserted at points to release the flow of Chi, thereby improving health. Acupuncture is a safe, hands-on therapy which can be used at any age to promote longevity, immunity and lifestyle enhancement.
# Pranic Healing - Pranic Healing is Grand Master Choa Kok Sui's evolved system of energy medicine which is an advanced two-step process where the individual is scanned and cleansed.
The healer first 'scans,' your aura and assesses areas of energy depletion, congestion or stagnation to be cleansed. This helps identify problem areas that need healing. Following the scan, the healer manually cleanses or "sweeps" you, to remove blockages and stagnant energies before giving fresh energy to you. Pranic Healing believes that cleansing is critical to the healing process because diseased energies and negative emotions first have to be removed, and only then the body should be energized.
Benefits: Cleansing and detoxification of the physical and mental body through the use of coloured energies, therein accelerating the body's innate healing abilities.
# Meditation - Mediation is an ancient practice wherein various techniques are applied to attain peace and clarity of the mind. Meditation has been known to reduce stress, pain and displeasing physiological conditions caused by stress. Mindfulness and regular meditation practice enhances quality of life, longevity and is believed to cultivate healing virtues.
