The Ghumantu community in Rajasthan that lives without having any residence is totally away from the votings. There has no been change seen in the lifestyle of the community that always travels to just find their work and food. One hand when the election commission pushes citizens of India to vote to increase the voting percentage, whether, on the other hand, there is a community that doesn't even have the right to vote.
This is the reason why the third half of the population of the community has not government official papers to registration. Not even the polling, they are also away from all the government schemes. Neither they are the vote bank so not a single party comes to support or to help them.
Around 8 per cent of Rajasthan's population
In the states like Dungrupur, Bhilwada, Banswada, Chittorgarh, and others you will find more of a population in Ghumantu community. According to the survey around 8 per cent of the population of Rajasthan belongs from Ghumantu community. Even the government has no records of their population as well and there are around 32 Ghumantu casts.
According to a media report, 98 per cent of Ghamantu community has no authorized place to live and most of the people live in huts. The lack of authorized papers they are not even able to have the benefits of government schemes.
