Sharif family miffed over JIT investigation procedures
Members of Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's family have raised questions on the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) formed to securitize the allegations against the family in regard to the Panama paper leaks.
Hussain Nawaz, the Prime Minister's eldest son has expressed misgivings over officers who may hinder the JIT findings and prove to be partial and unfair to the family.
Nawaz has reportedly requested two officers be dismissed from the probe team to ensure upright and unbiased investigations.
Talal Chaudhry, leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has also conveyed the party's reservations on the JIT, reported the Dawn.
Beside Nawaz, another member of the family has filed complaint against JIT, citing misbehavior. This complaint was filed by the PM's cousin Shafi to the JIT's head Wajid Zia against some of the JIT members after his interrogation.
The complaint has been forwarded to the Supreme Court for perusal.
Quoting sources, the Express Tribune reported that Shafi, is a key witness in the probe, and has been interrogated by a six-member JIT. However, during the investigation he was given a hard time by some JIT members.
The Express Tribune also reported sources that the PM's son was also considering moving a plea raising objections over the methods being employed to investigate.
