Pakistan gifts ‘gold-plated gun’ to Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince during Islamabad visit

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman recently visited Islamabad for several reasons, inlcuding investement deal. During his visit to Islamabad, Saudi Crown Prince was gifted a gold-plated submachine gun by Pakistani senators during his visit to Islamabad on Sunday, reported The Gaurdian.

Notably, Saudi Crown Prince dropped billion dollars in terms of investment -- $20 billion and handed over another cheque of $6 billion as loan, it was in turn personally driven around by the PM Imran Khan’s fight jet escort. The prince was welcomed with a fighter jet escort and Pakistan’s highest civilian honour on the lavish first leg of his Asian tour.

Prince was given a 21-gun salute, was awarded the Nishan-e-Pakistan which is the country’s highest civilian honour. Among all these, Prince was gifted something unique that can’t be ignored. Pakistani senators gifted a gold-plated Heckler & Koch MP5K submachine gun to the Saudi Crown Prince.

Golden Plated Submachine Gun:

-The golden plated submachine gun has been developed by German engineers.

- The weapon was modified to incorporate an elaborate pattern engraved on its gold-plated components.

-The gun’s magazine and nozzle are gold-plated with elaborate filigree

-The gift was presented by Senate chairman Sadiq Sanjrani along with a small delegation.

After Pakistan visit, the Crown Prince arrived in India on Tuesday night. On Thursday Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Crown Prince agree to tackle the menace of terrorism and to increase pressure on the countries supporting it. However, the two leaders didn’t mention Pakistan’s name and concurred that eliminating the infrastructure of terrorism was important to punish terrorists and their supporters.
