No Tolerance for Laxity in Public Hearings: Divisional Commissioner

Jodhpur (Rajasthan): Divisional Commissioner B.L. Mehra emphasised that officials must listen to people's problems with respect and redress them promptly. He directed all departments to ensure that no laxity is tolerated in district-level public hearings. Mehra instructed that all departmental officials must attend public hearings mandatorily.

A district-level public hearing was organised at the Collectorate Auditorium on Thursday under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner B.L. Mehra. During the hearing, instructions were given to all concerned departments to ensure prompt redressal of various cases and public problems. District Collector Gaurav Agrawal instructed all departmental officials that public hearings are an effective medium to realise good governance, and they must work with full commitment and accountability.

81 Cases Registered

During the district-level public hearing, a total of 81 cases were registered from various departments, including Revenue, Jodhpur Development Authority, Municipal Corporation North and South, Police, Panchayati Raj, Jodhpur DISCOM, Public Health Engineering Department, Public Works Department, Mining Department, Education Department, Transport, Rajasthan Housing Board, Settlement, Cooperation, Agriculture, Rajasthan Infrastructure Development, Labour, Roadways, Medical and Health, Minority, and Social Justice Empowerment Department. Instructions were given to all concerned departments to redress these cases promptly.

Vigilance Committee Meeting

A meeting of the District Vigilance Committee was held at the Collectorate Auditorium on Thursday under the chairmanship of District Collector Gaurav Agrawal. During the meeting, 10 cases were discussed, including encroachment in ancient water bodies, illegal sale of government land by JDA, the case of Ummed Heritage Colony, cancellation of residential layout plans, water supply issues, and removal of encroachment. District Collector Gaurav Agrawal and MLA Atul Bhansali discussed these cases with concerned officials and ensured their prompt redressal on the spot.
