Guna: No Dengue Tests Being Conducted at District Hospital
Guna (Madhya Pradesh): The district hospital in Guna is not conducting dengue tests, despite the increasing number of patients suffering from viral fever. The hospital's OPD is flooded with patients, with around 80% of them suffering from viral fever. However, the hospital lacks the facility to conduct dengue tests, leaving patients in a state of uncertainty.
The hospital's medical ward is overcrowded, with patients being treated in the corridors due to lack of space. The dengue isolation ward is empty, as there are no facilities to conduct tests. The hospital's laboratory is also not functioning properly, with the machine used for dengue tests being out of order for the past 15 days.
Doctors at the hospital are finding it difficult to diagnose patients, as they are not able to conduct dengue tests. They are relying on symptoms and platelet count to diagnose patients. Patients are being treated based on their symptoms, without being able to confirm whether they have dengue or not.
Private hospitals in the area are also not equipped to conduct dengue tests, and are relying on kit tests, which are not reliable. The kit tests are not approved by the government, and are not reliable in diagnosing dengue.
The district hospital's RMO, Dr. Anand Das Sharma, has assured that the machine will be repaired soon, and dengue tests will resume. However, until then, patients will have to suffer due to the lack of facilities at the hospital.
The hospital's OPD is witnessing a large number of patients, with around 700-900 patients visiting every day. The hospital is struggling to cope with the large number of patients, and the lack of facilities is adding to the chaos.
Experts say that the current season is ideal for dengue, and the lack of testing facilities is a major concern. They are urging the hospital authorities to take immediate action and resume dengue tests to prevent the spread of the disease.
In the meantime, patients are being forced to spend extra money on private treatment, which is adding to their financial burden. The hospital authorities need to take immediate action to address the issue and ensure that patients receive proper treatment.
