This Indian all-rounder helped Adam Zampa dismiss Virat Kohli twice in the series
Australian spinner Adam Zampa is the only bowler to dismiss Indian skipper Virat Kohli twice in the ongoing series against the Kangaroos. Zampa dismissed Kohli for 24 during the first T20I in Visakhapatnam and then dismissed him for 44 in the first ODI in Hyderabad.
The leg-spinner revealed that former India all-rounder and their spin coach Sridharan Sriram helped him read the Indian conditions better.
“Sri (Sridharan Sriram) has got the experience here and the knowledge," Zampa was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au. Zampa has dismissed Kohli four times in their 13 meetings in T20I and ODI cricket.
Zampa also disclosed how they spend extra time discussing Kohli in team meetings. "He's (Virat Kohli) one guy we always spend a little bit of extra time talking about in team meetings," Zampa said.
Australia won the two-match T20I series against India by 2-0 and are currently down by 0-1 in the five-match ODI series. Australia lost the first ODI match against India by six wickets in Hyderabad. At one point they were looking good when they dismissed four for 99 but couldn’t continue the momentum as MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav chased down 237 run target with their 141 run partnership stand.
India and Australia are now playing the second ODI match at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur. Both the teams will be looking to win the match as they are preparing for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup.
