Ind vs Aus, 2nd ODI match preview: Will KL Rahul get a chance in playing XI instead of Shikhar Dhawan?

India will look to continue their lead in the five-match ODI series when they take on Australia in the second ODI in Nagpur today. Kedar Jadhav and MS Dhoni came to India’s rescue when they were chasing 236 in the first ODI in Hyderabad. At one point India were 99 for four before Dhoni and Kedar took the matter in their own hands. Together they both notched up 141 run partnership stand and took India to a six wicket victory.

Virat Kohli has already made it clear that the ODI series against Australia is a rehearsal for the upcoming World Cup. And that means we would see more changes in this series to give chances to everyone. After the first ODI, Kohli admitted that it was his bowlers who won the match for India in Hyderabad. Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav all ended the game with two wickets each.

For India, Yuzvendra Chahal could take the field in place of Kuldeep Yadav, while Kedar Jadhav’s brilliant all-round performance will ensure his place in the playing XI. KL Rahul might get a chance after his amazing performance in the T20I series as opener Shikhar Dhawan did not do well with the bat. Vijay Shankar could also be given another go.

For Australia, Shaun Marsh might come in the playing XI in place of Ashton Turner as he has been most consistent ODI performer post ball-tampering scandal. Australia could try Andrew Tye in place of Jason Behrebdorff in the second ODI. Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis would be looking to score big as they threw their wickets away after getting their eye in.
