Thalapathy Vijay's Diwali release Mersal has taken a bumper start in the international markets. The film, which had premiered on Wednesday, had clocked a huge $500,000 at the USA Box Office. What's more? The Thalapathy starrer beats the opening day collections of Aamir Khan's Dangal and SRK's Raees in USA.

Directed by Atlee and produced by Sri Thenandal Films, Mersal also stars SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Nithya Menen. The music of Mersal has been done by AR Rahman while Baahubali writer K Vijayendra Prasad scripted the film.
