Thalapathy Vijay's Mersal has emerged as the winner among the Diwali releases at the UAE Box Office. The film, directed by Atlee hit the UAE screens on October 18 and took a massive opening across the cinemas of UAE. Mersal starred Thalapathy Vijay in triple roles and also saw Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Nithya Menen portraying female lead roles in it.

While Mersal is on its way to cross one-month theatrical run at the UAE Box Office, the film has already become the top grosser among the Diwali releases. It's a remarkable feat considering that the Tamil superstar film had clashed with two major Dilwali releases, Bollywood films Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar and Ajay Devgn-Rohit Shetty duo's Golmaal Again. By the end of its 27 days theatrical run, Mersal has grossed more than Rs. 9 crore at the UAE Box Office.
