Surya to replace Kamal Haasan in Shankar's Indian 2? Here's the truth
It's known that legendary Tamil actor Kamal Haasan and hit maker Shankar have joined hands for the sequel of actor-director duo's blockbuster film Indian. The film, a vigilante crime thriller which was released in 1996, was a massive hit among the critics and audience alike upon its release. Indian featured Kamal Haasan in dual roles and went on to become the best actor at National Film awards.
However, since Sunday morning, there had been rumours about Kamal Haasan walking out from Indian 2. There were reports that Dil Raju, who is bankrolling the film, was unhappy with the huge remuneration quoted by Kamal-Shankar duo, which forced him to leave the much ambitious project.
Some media houses went on to report that the 4-time National award winning actor has been replaced by superstar Surya in Indian 2. In fact, Surya fans were so excited to see their favourite actor teaming up with Shankar, who is known as the Steven Spielberg of Indian cinema. Many Surya fans took the micro-blogging site Twitter to trend Indian 2 with the Singam's name as male lead actor of the film.
Unfortunately, much to the disappointment of Surya fans, the PRO of Dil Raju squashed the reports as rumours. He also added that Indian 2 will be made with the Ulakanayakan himself and also stated that the film starts rolling once Kamal Haasan completes his pending works of Sabaash Naidu and Vishwaroopam 2.
