Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas' debut Tamil film Abhiyum Anuvum is yet to be released, but the actor has already signed his second Tamil film as well. However, his second Tamil outing will be none another than Dhanush's Maari 2. Directed by Balaji Mohan and bankrolled by Dhanush himself under his home production Wunderbar Films, the film is a sequel to the director-actor duo's 2015 hit film Maari. The prequel still holds the record of Dhanush's highest grossing film.

Dhanush portrays the titular role of a city-based young rowdy in Maari 2 while Tovino Thomas will be essaying the main antagonist role in the film. The film also marks the third association between the Tamil actor and the current hit machine of Malayalam cinema. Tovino's upcoming Malayalam release Tharangam, which is scheduled to hit the screens on Friday, is the maiden Malayalam production venture of Dhanush. The youngest National award winning actor is also producing Tovino's upcoming Malayalam film Maradona as well.

Meanwhile, Tovino Thomas is all set to have a back to back Friday releases with Tharangam and Abhiyum Anuvum. The Malayalam youth icon is already on a roll by delivering hat-trick of super hits at the Kerala Box Office: Ezra, Oru Mexican Aparatha and Godha.
