Dhanush to portray Akshay Kumar's role in the Tamil remake of Pad Man? Here's the truth
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar's recent release Pad Man is continuing its good run at the Box Office. The film, which is based on the life of Arunachalam Murugunatham, a social entrepreneur from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu has been produced by Akshay Kumar's wife and actress-turned-writer Twinkle Khanna and directed by R Balki.
Pad Man has so far minted Rs. 59 crore in 6 theatrical days at the Indian Box Office.
And now, according to recent media reports, R Balki is planning to remake Pad Man in Tamil. The director is planning to cast none other than Dhanush to portray the role of the Bollywood superstar in it's Tamil remake. Also, during the special screening of Pad Man in Chennai, Arunachalam Murugunatham stated that Dhanush would be the ideal choice to play him if his story ever gets made in Tamil.
Meanwhile, the shooting of Dhanush's Maari 2 is currently progressing in Tamil Nadu. The film, a sequel to his 2015 Tamil blockbuster "Maari" stars Sai Pallavi in the female lead. Maari 2 also stars Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas as the main antagonist.
