Weather Alert Today: Delhiites continue to shiver as cold winds from snow-clad regions
Delhiites witnessed a cold day on Monday as the maximum temperature settled at 21.9-degree Celsius. Since then there is no relief for Delhi-NCR residents as the temperature is rising and today India Meteorogical Department (IMD) has predicted the maximum temperature at 13.0-degree Celsius while the minimum temperature is recorded at 8.0-degree celsius.
According to the MeT department, there will be a cold wave in Delhi throughout the day. Also, as per scientists, Delhi might witness a slight rain by the end of the day or tomorrow due to impending western disturbance.
As per TOI report, This year’s cold start to the month is a throwback to Delhi weather seen till the 1970s and 80s. This December has proved to be an exception to this trend. “Winter temperatures in north India are regulated by western disturbances (WDS). December has seen two of these so far, including a major one last week that led to record rainfall,” said Kuldeep Srivastava, head of IMD’s regional weather forecasting centre here.
