Sambalpur University bars three students from entering in hostel for attacking assistant professor
The Sambalpur University syndicate has decided not to allow the three students, who allegedly attacked an assistant professor, to stay in hostel till completion of enquiry.
The syndicate had earlier constituted a high level committee to inquirer into the attack on the assistant professor of the department of political science Rajat Kujur on September 24.
Rajat Kujur was allegedly attacked by three students in his office chamber late on September 24. Kujur was allegedly attacked by the students as he did not attend a cultural event organised by them.
The students, however, denied the allegation, made by Kujur. They alleged that Kujur called one student namely Biswa Ranjan Jena to his office chamber and attacked him. They also alleged that Kujur called some outsider and told them to beat up the students who were opposing him.
Two separate cases have also been lodged in the Burla police station by both the groups in connection with the incident.
The university syndicate has also asked the assistant professor Rajat Kujur to answer the allegation, made by the students. The university syndicate has also decided to initiate departmental enquiry into the allegation of the students against the teacher.
