An Apple Executive, Vivek Tiwari was shot dead by two Uttar Pradesh Police constable early morning in Lucknow. The techie later scummed to his injuries after which the case took an ugly turn. The cops were later held and have been dismissed.

A case of murder was registered under IPC Section 302 against the constables. The two cops in their defence said the gunfire was made in self-defence.

A SIT team has been formed in the case. “A SIT has been formed under SP crime. I have personally sent a request to District Magistrate for a magisterial inquiry into the incident: Kalanidhi Naithani, SSP Lucknow said.

Speaking on the matter Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said CBI probe will be ordered it required. “It was not an encounter. An investigation will be conducted in this incident. If needed, we will order a CBI inquiry into the incident,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kalpana Tiwari, wife of the victim, Vivek Tiwari has written to CM Yogi and demanded compensation of Rs 1 crore and a job in the police department. She has also demanded CBI probe.

The victim was shot near the left ear and later scummed to his injuries. “He (Vivek Tiwari) had a bullet injury near the ear on the left side, he died during treatment. Body sent for post-mortem,” Devendra Singh Negi, Director, Lohia Hospital said.

The incident took place in Lucknow's upscale Gomtinagar extension area around 1:30 am. The cop fire at the car leaving the driver (Vivek) critically injured, the vehicle then rammed into the pillar of a bridge. Tewari is survived by his wife and two daughters.
