Rozgar Mela: PM Modi distributes appointment letters to over 71000 recruits
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as part of Central Government’s 'Rozgar Mela' (employment fair), distributed over 71,000 appointment letters to new recruits on November 22 via video conferencing.
At 45 locations across the country, appointment letters in physical form were distributed, except in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh, where the Model Code of Conduct is in effect.
As per the Prime Minister's Office, the mega drive is a step towards fulfilling the government’s commitment to give highest priority to employment generation for youths.
Last month, the Central Government handed over appointment letters to 75,000 unemployed youths. In June of this year, PM Modi instructed government agencies and departments to hire 10 lakh people in ‘mission mode’ during the course of the following 18 months.
