Rajasthan-based drug peddlers arrested; 13 kg heroin seized
The Punjab Police have arrested two Rajasthan-based drug smugglers near the Verka Bypass in Amritsar on November 21. The police also recovered 13 kg of heroin from their possession.
According to Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, the Counter Intelligence (CI) in Amritsar received a tip that two people in a bus were attempting to smuggle a large cache of narcotics to Rajasthan. The passengers were expected to disembark near the Verka Bypass.

Acting on a tip-off, a team led by AIG, CI, Amarjit Singh Bajwa, laid a checkpoint near the Verka Bypass and arrested the drug smugglers and seized a bag carrying 13 kg of heroin from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Sukhvir Singh, alias Kala, and Binder Singh, alias Bindu. Both the smugglers are residents of Rajasthan.
Police have registered a under sections 21 and 29 of the NDPS Act, and further investigations in the case are underway to find out the source and where it was supposed to be delivered.
