Ram Ram Japna Paraya Maal Apna: BJP not getting Ram Temple built, it’s being built on SC’s order, says CM Baghel
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel took a potshot at the BJP on April 25 over the Ram Mandir, saying that it is not being built by the ruling party but on the orders of the Apex Court of India.
He highlighted late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s remarks on Babri Masjid dispute that whatever decision would be taken by the Supreme Court would be followed.
“They (BJP) are not getting the Ram Mandir built; it is being built on the orders of the Supreme Court. What late Rajiv Gandhi said years back is happening now. The Ram Temple being built in Ayodhya is being built on the orders of the Supreme Court, and the BJP is not building it,” he said.
Further attacking the BJP, he said that the party follows the principle of ‘Ram Ram Japna Paraya Maal Apna’ (counting beads for God, but ready to usurp others' property), while the Congress party is walking on the vision of ‘Ram Rajya’.
“Our govt is walking on the vision of 'Ram Rajya' that was seen by our forefathers,” said Baghel.
Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya Ram Temple case during BJP rule
In 2019, the Apex Court delivered a landmark judgment in the Ayodhya land dispute case. The five-judge bench ruled in favour of Ram Janmabhoomi and stated that there will be a Ram Mandir at the disputed site and Muslims will be given an alternate 5-acre land for their mosque. The landmark decision came when there was a BJP government at the Center and in Uttar Pradesh.
