Pitbull attacks 7-yr-old in Delhi

New Delhi: In a terrifying incident, a neighbour's pitbull viciously attacked a seven-year-old girl in Jagatpuri, inflicting severe injuries.

Police Rush to the Scene
At 8:47 pm, a distress call reached PS Jagatpuri, prompting a swift response from the police. The victim and her mother were located at their Gali No. 2 residence in Jagatpuri, where the brutal bite marks were evident.

Legal Consequences Unleashed
The victim's mother filed a complaint, leading to the registration of a case against the pitbull's owner, Shivanand Bhaskar. IPC sections 289 and 337 have been invoked in the legal action.

Urgent Medical Measures
Post-attack, the girl received immediate medical attention from a local doctor. Both the victim and her mother were subsequently taken to Hedgewar Hospital for the Medico-Legal Case (MLC) procedure.

The police registered a case against the dog's owner following the complaint from the victim's mother. He has been booked under sections 289 and 337 of the IPC, the police said.

The dog owner has been identified as Shivanand Bhaskar, a resident of Jagatpuri. "The mother of the girl said that at around 6 pm, the incident happened and she took her girl to the local doctor and got the treatment. The victim girl, along with her mother, was sent to the Hedgewar Hospital for the preparation of MLC," they added.
