Karnataka students made to wear cardboard boxes to avoid copying in exam

In a bizarre incident, authorities of a private college in Haveri district of Karnataka made its students wear cardboard boxes in the halls to avoid copying in the examination.

The college later faced social media backlash after photos of the incident went viral on various platforms.

According to reports, more than 50 students of Bhagat Pre-University were forced to wear cardboard in order to avoid cheating in examinations. The incident came to fore after a staff of the college management shared a photo of the incidents on his Facebook profile on Wednesday.
In the photo, students were seen writing papers in the examination wearing cartons.

Soon after the photos were posted on Facebook, the incident went viral, following which the institute faced social media backlashes.

The Karnataka government has issued a notice to the college authorities seeking an explanation about the incident.

On the other hand, it was alleged that many students of the college were found cheating during last year’s examinations, even after being warned not to practice the act, but they continued to cheat.

In order to stop this practice, the college management comittee decided to introduce the idea and asked the students to wear cardboard boxes during the mid-term examinations.
