Happy Teachers’ Day 2022: Check Twitter reactions from top politicians, celebs
“Teachers should be the best minds in the country,” this is the famous quote by Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan that sums up how important the role of teachers is in society.
Teachers’ Day is celebrated in India on September 5 every year. The day is celebrated to honour the teachers who are the foundation of anyone’s life. They are the ones who shape characters and teach valuable lessons about life.
September 5 marks the birth anniversary of India’s former president and educationist Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. On this day, students show their affection for teachers by gifting them roses, handmade cards etc. Teachers’ Day is celebrated in every school and college across the country by conducting functions in which students do various performances for teachers.
Commemorating this day, prominent personalities took to Twitter to express their gratitude to all the teachers.
President Droupadi Murmu paid homage to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan at Rashtrapati Bhavan on his birth anniversary.
Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar paid paid his tributes to Dr S Radhakrishnan and wrote, "A visionary statesman and towering intellectual, Dr Radhakrishnan will always be remembered for his contribution to the cause of education."
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also remembered Dr Radhakrishnan and expressed his gratitude to teachers ‘who spread the joys of education among young minds.’
Former vice president of India M Venkaiah Naidu paid homage to Dr Radhakrishnan and wrote, “Today we pay our respectful tributes to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his Jayanti which we celebrate as #TeachersDay. We bow our heads to our Gurus today for shaping young minds, moulding careers & building the nation.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also paid tribute to Dr Radhakrishnan.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also paid tribute to Dr S Radhakrishnan on his Jayanti.
Virat Kohli, the former skipper of the Indian cricket team, sent his best wishes to all the teachers and said that their ‘contribution to our society is priceless.’
Bollywood Actor Anupam Kher remembered his teacher who died recently.
