Gujarat Horror: Adoptive father rapes Class 9 girl for 2 years

The life of a girl child, who was abandoned by her biological parents in Surat, underwent a drastic change when a childless couple adopted her at the tender age of three months. Initially, she lived a happy life with her new parents, but unfortunately, she became a victim of sexual abuse, casting a dark cloud over her once again.

Now 14 years old and studying in Class 9, the minor girl has been subjected to sexual abuse by her adoptive father, his younger brother, and his three nephews since 2021. The girl's adoptive mother discovered the horrifying truth on May 6 when she witnessed her husband abusing the girl. Acting swiftly, she rescued her and promptly lodged a complaint against her 46-year-old husband, his younger brother (41), his elder brother's son (24), his younger brother's son (22), and his sister-in-law's 16-year-old son at the Adajan police station. 

In response to the complaint, the police arrested four individuals, including the adoptive father, his brother, and two nephews. The couple had adopted the girl from a government shelter, unaware of the horrendous fate that awaited her.

The series of incidents began in 2021 when the accused took the girl to the first floor of their house and raped her. Following this heinous act, she was subjected to repeated sexual abuse by the five accused. The victim, terrified by their threats to kill or harm her, kept the abuse a secret and suffered in silence.

It was in early 2022 that the victim finally confided in her mother after the mother noticed scratch marks on her body. Confrontation with her husband led to severe disputes between the couple, resulting in the husband sending the girl to study in a hostel. At that time, the adoptive mother did not report the abuse to the police, hoping that the torment inflicted upon her child had come to an end.

Further investigation into  the matter is underway.
