Ghaziabad: Yogi Adityanath inaugurated 10.3 km elevated road for the second time

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the 10.3 km-long elevated road from UP Gate to Raj Nagar Extension for the second fifteen days after local Samajwadi Party forcefully had inaugurated. The CM slammed the former government at the inaugural ceremony, saying that the road would have never been functional under the SP’s rule.

Adityanath said the Samajwadi Party government had begun work on the project in 2014 without any sanctions from the Railways and Environment ministries. It is the reason the work had to be started afresh when the BJP came to power.

A video was also played on the work and welfare programmes by the present government at the event. After that Ghaziabad MP VK Singh talked on how the BJP governments both at the state and the Centre were pushing funds for development in the region.

UP Power Minister Shrikant Sharma also attacked the SP-BSP alliance which was recently formed. He called it a ‘cocktail coalition’.

After the district SP leaders threw the road open to public use, hopes of the Ghaziabad District Administration (GDA) to inaugurate the long stretch of road amid much fanfare were dazed. A myriad of vehicles reached the Raj Nagar Extension entry of the elevated road. For the sake of the formal ceremony of the inauguration, a ribbon was cut, a coconut broken and the road was inaugurated as those gathered flanked SP flags. The road was open to public use for a few minutes until government officials and police personnel reached the spot and cordoned off the area.
