Digvijay Singh allots Congress Committee's land to Ram Temple trust in Bhopal
Senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh CM Digvijay Singh has allotted District Congress Committee’s land to the Ram Temple trust, he announced on April 13.
Digvijay is contesting the Lok Sabha election from Bhopal and is slated to win the polls due to his popularity and influence but has attracted media over a period of time due to some controversial remarks, like in the MP Assembly election last year, he said that if he goes out campaigning, ‘Congress might lose.’
While committing the Congress Committee land to the Ram Temple trust, Digvijay said, “I want to tell you that land for the Ram Temple was provided during our term. The land was provided for the DCC office as well. The Congress party has decided that this land will also be allotted to Ram Mandir Trust.”
The media further asked him about his take on the Ram Mandir issue in Ayodhya, the veteran Congress leader replied in a safe manner and said, “The matter is in the court. Let there be a decision.”
Polling in Madhya Pradesh is scheduled to take place in four phases from April 29 to May 19 and the result of the polls will be announced on May 23. MP holds 29 seats in its pocket and the Congress party is riding an advantage bus as it had won the recently held Assembly election in December 2018, ousting the three times Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the BJP was clean swiped in the Hindi Heartland of Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and MP.
