Delhi school receives bomb threat; bomb disposal, SWAT teams arrive at spot

A school in Delhi’s Sadiq Nagar area was evacuated after receiving a bomb threat email today, April 12. The bomb detection and disposal squad arrived at The Indian School after receiving the information and is conducting a thorough check of the school premises.

The students and the teachers have been shifted to a safe place soon after receiving the bomb threat.

Meanwhile a Swat team has also arrived at the school and cordoned off the area.

The bomb threat email was received at around 10:30 am today.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police South, two rounds of checking have already been done while the third round of checking is underway.

DCP South stated that the threat email could be hoax. “So far it looks like a hoax call. We have done two rounds of checking. The third round checking is on. We informed the special cell also and pulled in SWAT apart from BDS. Visual checking was also done. We are investigating who’s behind it. Last time the email was sent via a general server, so we haven’t been able to trace it,” he said.

Further details are awaited.
