Delhi: Fire breaks out again in Anaj Mandi
A day after the horrific fire incident at Anaj Mandi in Delhi, which had claimed as many as 43 people, another fire has broken out in the same building on Monday, reported ANI.
According to the news agency, four fire tenders have been rushed to the spot and were trying to douse the fire.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Forty-three people were killed in a massive fire that swept through a factory operating from a residential area in Delhi's Anaj Mandi on Rani Jhansi road early on Sunday. Over 50 people have been rescued so far.
The fire, which erupted due to a short-circuit, has been doused and rescue efforts are underway. Many people trapped inside were rescued and rushed to RML Hospital, LNJP, and Hindu Rao Hospital, fire officials said.
The mishap was reported at around 5:22 AM following which 30 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Chaotic scenes were witnessed at the site of the fire incident with relatives and locals rushing to the area.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Rahul Gandhi, and other leaders expressed their grief over the incident.
CM Kejriwal announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each for the kin of the deceased. The govt has ordered a probe into the fire incident and sought reports within seven days.
PM Modi also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each from Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund each for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives in the fire tragedy and a compensation of Rs 50,000 each to those injured in the incident.
BJP announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakhs each to families of those who have lost their lives and Rs 25000 to injured. BJP MP from North East Delhi, Manoj Tiwari has visited Delhi fire incident announced the compensation.
