BJP corners Siddaramaiah over attack on K'Taka Lokayukta
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday slammed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah-led Congress government in Karnataka for the attack on Karnataka Lokayukta Justice Vishwanath Shetty in his office in Bengaluru.
The Karnataka Lokayukta Justice was earlier stabbed inside his office premises in Bengaluru. He was later rushed to the Mallaya Hospital for treatment.
Condemning the incident, the BJP questioned the law and order in the state and also held the Siddaramaiah government responsible for the incident.
Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "Karnataka Lokayukta being attacked in his office in Bengaluru is a serious issue of law and order."
Union Minister Ananth Kumar also echoed the same and said, "Siddaramaiah and Congress are fully responsible for this. It is time for them to leave Karnataka."
"It is unfortunate that in broad daylight, there has been a murderous attack on the Lokayukta. He is battling for his life in the hospital. This incident shows the deteriorating law and order situation in Karnataka", he added.
Shetty is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital and is out of danger now.
The person, who attacked the Lokayukta has also been taken into custody, confirmed State Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy
