Bihar: Woman jumps out of moving bus to escape harassment; critical

A woman sustained serious injuries after she jumped off a speeding bus to escape sexual harassment in Bihar’s Purnea. According to the police, they found the injured woman lying on the road in the early hours of yesterday, January 24.

Cops immediately rushed the woman to a government hospital for treatment.

The victim told the police that she was traveling on a bus from Vaishali to Siliguri when a group of men attempted to harass her. In order to save herself, she jumped from the moving bus.

According to Purnea Government Hospital doctor CK Sinha, the woman received serious head injury and her condition is serious.

Police have lodged a case and investigation is underway.
