Asad Ahmed Encounter: Watch Ghulam’s mother refuses to take body

Khusnuda, the mother of Ghulam – who was gunned down by the Uttar Pradesh STF yesterday along with gangster and politician Atiq Ahmad’s son Asad Ahmed – stated that she will not receive the body of her son, saying that the action taken by the state government is correct.

She further stated that the action will serve as a lesson for other criminals.

"The action taken by the government is absolutely correct. All gangsters and criminals will take a lesson from this. I will not receive his body, maybe his wife will receive it," ANI quoted Khusnuda as saying.

When asked whether she knew about the criminal activity of Ghulam, Khusnuda said that she had no idea that her son was working for gangster Atiq Ahmed. “I had no idea that he (my son) used to work for gangster Atiq Ahmed,” she said.

Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad Ahmed and his aide Ghulam- both wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case - were gunned down in an encounter by UP Special Task Force (STF) in Jhansi on April 13. Both the accused were carrying Rs 5 lakh each on their heads.

The encounter took place when Atiq Ahmed and his brother his brother Ashraf were brought to the Prayagraj Court in connection with Umesh Pal Murder case. The court granted four-day remand of both the accused to the police. Atiq and Ashraf will be produced in the court on April 17.

With the killing of Asad and Ghulam, the UP Police have gunned down four accused allegedly involved in the heinous murder of Umesh Pal and cops deployed for his security.

On 24 February, Umesh Pal and two policemen deployed for his security were shot dead in broad day light. Since then, the UP Police launched a manhunt to nab the accused involved in the murder.
