ADR Report: BJP declares Rs 1000 crore income, Congress' data awaited ahead of Lok Sabha polls

As the election of state assembly concluded, a report by the watchdog ADR has said that BJP earned Rs 1000 crore in 2017-18 and the data of Congress is awaited.

The report by the Association for Democratic Reforms elaborates about the BJP’s income in the last year and said that the party earned Rs 1000 crore and spent over Rs 750 crore in the following year.

As per the information, the Congress party is yet to submit its income and expenditure report to the Election Commission for the year 2017-18 and hence, its information is still unavailable.

As per the data released by election watchdog ADR, which was released on Monday, the total income of the BJP was Rs 1,027.339 crore which was followed by the Left brigades Communist Party of India (Marxist) which had Rs 104.847 crore.

Then, it was the Uttar Pradesh’s Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party, which earned a total of Rs 51.694 crore in the year.

Although, its interesting to note that the income of the worlds largest party, ie BJP has decreased when compared with the previous year. In 2017-18, the BJP;s income was Rs 1027 crore but in 2016-17, it was Rs 7 crore more and stood at Rs 1034 crore.

Further, the Nationalist Congress Party of Sharad Pawar earned Rs 8.15 crore but their expenditure was more than their income and it stood at Rs 8.84 crore.

Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress had earned Rs 5.167 crore and CPI had Rs 1.55 crore in its bank.

The Congress party which earned Rs 225.36 crore in 2016-17 is yet to submit its data and the last date of submission was October 30.
