2 arrested for making morphed video of Shiv Sena MLA, female leader viral on social media
Two people have been arrested in Dahisar in connection with making a morphed offensive video of Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) MLA Prakash Surve and a woman leader go viral on the social media platforms, the Mumbai Police said on March 12.
The accused persons have been identified as Manas Kuwar (26) and Ashok Mishra (45).
Police have registered a case against the accused persons under IPC sections 354,509,500,34 and 67.
Further investigation is underway.
Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) spokesperson Sheetal Mhatre reacted on the issue and blamed Uddhav Thackeray faction for it.
In December 2021, MLA Surve lodged an FIR at the Dahisar police station, alleging that an unknown person made video calls to him and tried to extort money by morphing his video. In the complaint, the MLA alleged that an unknown person video-called him where a woman was seen doing obscene acts. Later, he received a call where the accused demanded money from him and threatened him with sharing the video on social media.
