Assam Rifles seizes huge cache of illegal foreign cigarettes worth Rs 1.05 crore

Assam Rifles arrested a man from Tlangsam in Champhai district on March 10 and seized a huge cache of illegal foreign-origin cigarettes from his possession.

The accused person had 70 cartons of such cigarettes, with an approximate market value of Rs 1.05 crore.

Yesterday, the CID (SB) operation team of Mizoram police arrested two people in Tanhril (Aizawl) and recovered one AK Rifle (made in china) alongwith one magazine from ther possession.

On March 10, Mizoram Police seized 1,300 kg heroin from a vehicle in Karimganj district along the Assam-Mizoram border. Three people were also arrested. The police intercepted the vehicle coming from Mizoram's side at the Kontekchera area.
