As polling for the 6th and second last phase begun in all seven seats of Delhi, six states for 59 Lok Sabha constituencies seats, several prominent leaders, including Union Minister Harsh Vardhan, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Jyotiraditya Scindia will be in the fray. However, there are several candidates whose fate of their debut inning, including Gautam Gambhir, Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, to be decided today.
In all seven states, more than 10.17 crore voters to exercise their franchise and will decide the 979 candidates fate. As polling began, people queued up early in the morning at polling booth across seven states. Among the early birds to cast votes were Pragya Thakur, BJP candidate from Bhopal, Gautam Gambhir, east Delhi candidate of BJP, Indian cricketer Virat Kohli.
Fourteen seats in Uttar Pradesh, 10 in Haryana, eights constituencies each in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal, seven seats in Delhi and four in Jharkhand is witness polling today.
As Delhi witnesses a three-cornered battle between the BJP, Aam Aadmi Party and the Congress, eye on Delhi all seven seats. Uttar Pradesh's Phulpur, Gorakhpur seats and Azamgarh seats also in the fray.
The final and seventh phase polling is scheduled on May 19. The counting of votes to be done on May 23rd.
