Dead man returns home 24 hrs after relatives ‘buried’ his body
In a shocking incident, a 55-year-old man, who was presumed to be dead and was buried by his relatives on Sunday, came back home alive on Monday. The incident happened at Banagaladpur near Erode.
A daily wage labourer, identified as Moorthy had gone to Tirupur a few days ago in order to harvest sugarcane, reported the Times of India. His son, named Karthi, got a phone call from a relative on Sunday morning, saying his father was found dead at a nearby bus depot.
The son went to the spot and confirmed that it was his father’s deadbody, said a police official. The Sathyamangalam police registered a case and handed over the lifeless body to the family, who then carried out the last rituals and buried the body on Sunday.
On Monday, however, the family was shocked as Moorthy walked into the house. His son, Karthi, was startled. He said, as reported by The Times of India, “We couldn’t believe our eyes when he entered the house. I was shocked to hear the news of my father’s death and I was equally shocked when he walked into the house.”
Karthi informed the police, who have started a probe to find the real identity of the deceased person.
