BCCI directs Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul to pay Rs 1 Lakh each to families of martyred para-military forces
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) directs Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul to pay Rs 1,00,000 each to families of para-military forces lost their lives in action, within four weeks. BCCI also asked them to play Rs 10,00,000 each to blind cricket association in order to promote the game.
The decision came after Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul gave misogynist statements on a Television chat show ‘Koffee with Karan’. Hardik and Rahul stirred controversy after they appeared on the celebrity TV show. Supreme Court of India appointed former justice DK Jain as BCCI’s ombudsman.
The decision against Pandya and Rahul came after months as they were previously called back mid-tour from Australia. BCCI may deduct the amounts from the match fee payable to them. Both Hardik and Rahul were selected for the upcoming cricket World Cup earlier this week. They are performing really well in this year’s Indian Premier League.
KL Rahul has scored a century against Hardik Pandya's Mumbai Indians and remained unbeaten. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya finished many games for Mumbai Indians with his quick-fire batting.
